CJC 1295 or modified GRF 1-29 is a polypeptide, which falls under the growth hormone secretagogue, it is mainly a modified version of the naturally existing GHRH that is secreted endogenously. The polypeptide can be referred to as the second generation of the growth hormone releasing hormone where GRF is modified to create Mod GRF 1-29 or what is popularly known as CJC 1295 without DAC. The CJC lacks drug affinity complex, however the activity of the hormone is largely related to the blend with growth hormone hexapeptide or GHRP-6. Both hormones have shown the ability to enhance the production of Ghrelin, which in turn induces the feeling of hunger, gastric emptying, and enhanced gastric motility. The discovery of hormones such as GHRH led to production of fine polypeptides such as GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 all of which are geared towards increasing the production of growth hormone.
Studies reveal that synthetic hormones work synergistically with the natural GHRH and this relationship is enhanced when the hormones are blended. The synergistic activity is enhanced as well as the potency, effectiveness, and half-life. The enhanced production of GH is largely attributed to the inhibition of somatostatin a hormone that counters GH production on the cells of anterior pituitary lobe. A combination of CJC 1295 & GHRP-6 is known to act on the hypothalamic sites and the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland to exude the production of growth hormone. The increase in the production of growth hormone can be attributed to the inhibition of antagonist somatostatin and the activation of various GRF neurons. The activity of the blend has shown positive results in countering the effects of low GH production and irresponsive cells. The blend activates GHS-R a receptor that is known to respond positively to GH release.
