What is Triporelin?

All the information below is strictly for research purposes only. Under no circumstance should this chemical be used for human consumption.

Triptorelin is a decaptide, which acts as an agonist to Gonadotropin releasing hormone, triptorelin is effective in increasing the amounts of testosterone through the stimulation of the anterior lobe of the hypothalamus. The main mechanism of action is through the countering of the effects of follicle stimulating hormone or FSH and LH or luteinizing hormone. There is undergoing research on the possibilities of using the hormone in treating cancer and other diseases such as breast cancer, prostate cancer and other estrogens dependent conditions. FSH is vital in regulation of sexual production , it is important in stimulating the differentiation of the germ cells , which in turn mature to form either sperm in males or ova in females .

The pituitary gland is responsible for the production and secretion of the hormone and triptorelin is known to enhance the production of the sex hormones.Triptorelin plays an integral part in the production of GRH since the hormone is produced in a pulsating manner; triptorelin ensures that the levels are kept high throughout by countering the effects of LH and FSH as indicated earlier.

GRH or Gonadotropin releasing hormone is produced in pulses, it is vital for the triptorelin levels to be maintained at high levels because it helps in combating the effects of somatostatin a hormone, which inhibits GH production. The hypothalamo-pituitary gonadal axis is vital in mediating different aspects of hormonal production. The secretion of the hormone is usually halted at birth but after some time during puberty, the production begins again. The trigger of HPG reactivation is not yet known but a G-coupled protein receptor 54 or GPR54 and kisspeptins are vital in activating the secretion of GnRH during puberty.
